3 Reasons Exercise is Important

Some people feel that they can get away with leading a lazy lifestyle. Individuals who feel this way cannot be bothered to exercise and would rather spend their time lying around, kicking back in the lazy boy, and spending their lives on the couch. These individuals are typically of the home body variety and are quite content with going out of the house as little as possible. These individuals feel that exercise is only for those trying to lose weight or engage in weight training. What these individuals fail to realize, however, is there are at least 3 reasons why exercise is important.

Builds up Strength and Endurance

Exercise enables individuals to build up strength and endurance. Keeping the body strong is important because strong bodies enable daily tasks to be accomplished more effectively. Failure to exercise will lead to weakness and deterioration of the muscles. Once weakness and muscle deterioration set in, then other health problems can occur.

Keeps the Hearth Healthy

Exercise enables individuals to maintain a healthy heart. The blood pumps through steadily, and the instances of heart disease decrease. Without exercise, the heart will not be able to function at its best.

Decreases the Instances of Depression

When individuals exercise, the brain releases hormones that cause them to feel good. These hormones are known as end orphans. When end orphans are released, there is less of a chance that people will be depressed. Some experts say that if individuals who suffer from depression engage in a regular exercise routine, the depression can be worked out without taking depression drugs.

Experts say that it is beneficial for adults to receive at least 30 minutes of exercise a day. Of course, individuals can carry their routine out longer if they want to; however, they should not exercise for any less than 30 minutes.
