Lets us look at causes of Aids and the methods of prevention.

Causes of AIDS
1.    Multiple sex partners and unprotected sex: Loyalty pays! Multiple sex partners and unprotected intercourse is one of the major reasons for spread of Aids. One needs to ensure that they use protection while having an intercourse. This is safe guard you and your partner from aids and other sexually transmitted diseases.

2.    Use of infected syringes or contact with contaminated blood: The Aids viruses are present in the patient’s blood.  If the medical practitioner uses an infected syringe on a healthy person, he or she may contract aids.  It is important to check if your medical practitioner is using a fresh syringe or a disposable syringe every time.

3.    Aids can also pass from the expecting mothers to the fetus. Pregnant women must undergo a preliminary aids test during the first trimester of pregnancy. Check with your doctor for other tests that may be required.

Symptoms of Aids take time to show up; hence it can be difficult to diagnose Aids or HIV at early stages. Medical practitioners recommend a healthy individual to undergo annual body check up to trace any hidden ailments. As they say, prevention is better than cure. When in doubt you should check with your medical counselor. If you have had an unprotected intercourse, one should undergo an Eliza blood test to determine the presence of HIV. It is better to be safe than sorry. Society also needs to be supportive towards such individuals. One needs to understand that these individuals have to be treated fairly. They are not suffering from any disability nor is it contagious. Treat them with respect and love and give them a fair chance to lead normal life.
