Methods Of Regaining Strength In The Muscles

There are diseases and traumatic causes for a person to become weak and the muscles to lose strength. Some of the common diseases that can lead to weakness in the muscles are the diseases of the nerves and the diseases of the muscles. The damage to the muscle can directly lead to muscle weakness. Similarly, the damage that occurs in the nerve can also cause muscle weakness because of the fact that muscles function normally because of the nerve supply to them.

If any person has damage to the muscles or nerves and has a resulting muscle weakness, then there are some methods that can be used to give strength to the muscles. Exercises are the best methods that will give strength. There is no need for any other equipment too. The affected person can use their own joints to start doing exercises.

There are two different kinds of exercises. If the muscle is very weak, then the person will do simple exercises that are called as active exercises. This is just moving the joints to their full range of movement. This helps the muscles to function and so will give them strength. On the other hand, if the muscle strength is only just less than normal, then resistance can be added to the movement of the joint. This will cause further strength to the muscles. This is called as the resistance exercises or strength training.

Aerobic exercises are the ones that are done at a low intensity for a long time. This is usually done by those who have cardiac problems. This kind of exercises is not very tiring for the person. Some of the common kinds of aerobic exercises are the walking and cycling. The resistance training exercises that cause increase in strength are called as anaerobic exercises because they are high intensity exercises used to increase muscle strength.
