Think Outside the Gym

Being in the gym is a nice, cozy way to get in shape during the periods when the weather outside is just too extreme to be viable for you to train in. Of course, a lot of people get into the habits of being way too “cozy” during their workouts, which leads them into being flabbier and weaker than they should be. If you have allowed yourself to get into these posh, decadent habits, there is no better time than the present to get yourself out of them, in the style of everybody’s ancestors. Believe it or not, there was a time when there was no such concept as “going outside.”

Keep in mind that humanity is one of the very few animals which works out in a place it has constructed, without first constructing it personally. If a borrowing creature has to do something strenuous (such as fleeing from a predator or battling back a rival) and they are inside, they are generally going to have first invested the necessary energy to have dug the opening in the first place.

In the same vein, the entire idea of a gym is to be an assistance to the exercises that people are doing outside in the real world. While a lot of folks have gotten completely addicted to the climate controlled, perfectly lighted, mirrored areas and the abundance of different types of machinery, nobody really needs all of this bling. This is just the stuff that people use when they either need to for some reason, or when they do not realize that they can do perfectly well without using any of it. People were getting strong before gyms, so be sure to get out.
