New Jersey Natural Health Coalition

Who we are…

The New Jersey Natural Health Coalition (NJNHC) is an alliance of health care consumers united in our belief that every person has the inalienable right to choose the path of his or her own healing, and that nothing should limit or restrict such freedom in personal health care choices. Our primary mission is to help educate the public regarding individual rights and choices in health care, and broaden availability to all natural healing modalities*.

Though millions of New Jersey residents regularly utilize natural health care therapies, current state law prohibits individuals from using non-invasive natural health care services for the treatment of disease either as a complement or alternative to conventional health care practices. As such, it is illegal for natural health care practitioners to consult with a client for the purpose of diagnosing, treating, or prescribing for any human malady, pain, injury, deformity, or physical condition. This denies consumers the right of access to alternative and complementary health care systems for the treatment of illness or to encourage well-being. We believe that such restrictions negate our rights under the New Jersey State Constitution and limit our freedom as protected by law.

In keeping with our mission, the NJNHC seeks to study existing laws and inform the public about emerging options that can expand access to all natural health therapies, while ensuring protection of consumers from fraudulent practices.

It is our belief that real freedom in personal health care will begin when we, out of love and respect for one another, can recognize each person's right to defend life and secure health through individual choice. We hope that you will join us in this endeavor.

"All persons are by nature free and … have certain unalienable rights" including "enjoying and defending life, liberty…and of pursuing and obtaining safety and happiness."
